조지 몰튼-클락은 미키마우스, 톰과 제리, 곰돌이 푸 등 대중적인 캐릭터들을 대담하고 거친 선과 강렬한 색채를 활용해 캔버스에 역동적으로 표현하는 작가이다. 어릴 적 추억을 불러일으키는 만화 캐릭터들은 작가에 의해 추상적인 요소들과 결합되어 나타나며, 이는 관객의 시선을 사로잡는 요소(hook)이다. 추상과 구상, 완성과 미완성의 경계를 넘나드는 작가의 회화는, 보는 이에게 현실과 본질에 대한 질문을 던진다.
George Morton-Clark takes popular characters such as Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, Winnie the Pooh, and describes them in his most enthusiastic way using bold lines and strong hue. The characters function as a hook to attract the gaze, bringing out nostalgia. The artworks stand in boundaries between real and unreal, completion and incompletion, questioning the audience on true nature and reality.
