박병근은 빛을 탐구하는 작가입니다. 작가에게 빛이란 존재를 이루는 힘입니다. 빛은 삶의 방향을 비추는 이정표이자 내면을 밝혀주는 요소로, 이는 곧 정체성으로 귀결됩니다. 작가는 ‘빛을 통한 자아실현’이라는 주제를 캔버스에 담기 위해 홀로그램 판, 나무, 아크릴, 그리고 레진을 합친 자신만의 독특한 홀로그램 페인팅 기법을 고안해 냈으며, 나아가 ‘빛디’라는 페르소나를 대입해 작품의 세계를 더욱 확장하였습니다. 작가의 작품은 단순히 빛을 표현하기 보다, 인생의 빛나는 순간을 포착하는 것에 목적 을 두고 있습니다.
Park, Byeong Geun, also known as ‘Parking’, sees light as a foundation of energy and being. Light functions as a guide to life as well as a tool for identifying inner self, eventually leading to self-awareness and self-actualization. The artist has developed his unique method of painting using hologram film, wood, acrylic and resin to capture natural light within the artwork. Later, his studies on ‘self-actualization through light’ has developed into certain series titled ‘Bitti’, a created persona exploring memories, remnants of light and enlightenment.
